Public Accountability
The Transparency Code for Smaller Authorities (Department for Communities and Local Government, Dec. 2014) requires Parish Councils with an annual turnover not exceeding £25,000 to meet new transparency requirements and to do this with effect from 1 July 2015.
According to the Code, such Parish Councils should publish:
- minutes, agendas and meeting papers of formal meetings
- end of year accounts
- internal audit reports
- annual governance statements
- all items of expenditure above £100
- the details of public land and building assets
- list of councillor responsibilities
On this page, we provide links to documents which meet these requirements.

Assets
The only land or buildings owned by Aust Parish Council is the Woodwell Meadows Nature Reserve at Field Lane, Littleton-upon-Severn. The site is approximately 3.1 hectares and includes a wooded area, open meadows and a pond. The public are able to freely access the site on foot, though visitors should be aware that there is no car parking area. The land was gifted at no cost to Aust Parish Council in April 2010. It is currently managed by South Gloucestershire Council, on behalf of the Parish Council.
The council owns a few other fixed assets, including noticeboards in each village. A full list of assets owned can be obtained from the Clerk on request.
