Council Meetings

Parishioners are welcome to attend Parish Council meetings. These are generally held on the 4th Tuesday of each month. Check out the Events page on this website for dates and times of meetings. Please contact the Clerk if you plan to attend so that a sufficiently large room can be used.

Minutes of previous meetings are published on the Parish Council website once they have been approved.  Click here to be re-directed to the Parish Council's website.

OLVESTON PARISH COUNCIL NEEDS YOU!

The April 2017 Meeting of Olveston Parish Council welcomed two new members - Catherine Offer and Martin Gibson, both of whom have lived in Tockington for many years. There is still one vacancy, and the Parish Council would like to hear from anyone interested in applying (particularly those from Old Down, whose residents are currently not well represented).

Local residents lead busy lives but many are prepared to contribute in all kinds of ways to their local community to ensure it remains a fabulous place to live.  Becoming a Parish Councillor is one way to contribute. The Parish of Olveston is wider than just the village of Olveston.  If you live in Olveston, Tockington, Old Down, Lower Hazel, Awkley or Ingst, you are an Olveston parishioner.

If you'd like to consider joining the Parish Council and participating in the discussions and decisions which aim to make our parish a great place to live, please consider joining us!  These are voluntary roles, as are so many others in the local community.  Your contribution to our work would be greatly valued.  Contact the Clerk, Richard Rogers, or any other Council member, if you want to know more.

OLVESTON PARISH WALKS - New leaflets have been produced detailing six circular walks in Olveston Parish.  Read more here.

Parish Design Statement

Don't forget - the parish of Olveston has its own Design Statement, designed to influence South Gloucestershire Council when making decisions about planning matters and to set out what makes Olveston distinctive and 'special'.   You can read an article about how the Design Statement was drawn up and how it can be used here. You can see the Design Statement itself by scrolling to the bottom of the page about Olveston Parish.

Council Policy on its Donations to Charities
